Osceola and county leaders push a big booster trip and full program for the Polk County Fair starting Tuesday. Harness races, acrobats, music, and free children admission on Wednesday mark the opening while presidents and committees finalize exhibits and ticket sales to ease crowds.
Miss Ruth Brown and Edith Burritt of Wish Bone Poultry win the county poultry demonstration and will represent Polk County at the state fair. O. M. Summers of the State University Extension selected the winning team and A. K. Hepperly outlined calf club plans. Hepperly will help on a livestock judging tour Saturday with Mr. Adair.
The Womans' Club of Clear Creek and their families will hold a picnic on Wednesday the 27th at Tom Cockson's pasture land.
The Wesley Chapel Woman's Club schedules a picnic at Buckisey Park on Thursday the 28th. Members are urged to bring dishes and share in the community gathering.
All residents who want items dried in the community drier must notify the county agent's office promptly. 50-11 W. B. Adair and Miss Mary Borreson traveled to Polk last Saturday to select Gladyce Thompson and Olive Hirsch of Clover Needle Club to represent Polk County at the State Fair.
The Chapel Unit will meet with Mrs. Arthur Nelson on Thursday September 4. Mrs. Arvid Anderson and Mrs. Roy Richards will assist.
The club schedules a community picnic at Buckley Park Stromsboro on Thursday August 28. Everyone is invited to bring dinner and enjoy planned entertainments with a big time anticipated.

Grace and Valley Missionary Society will meet at the parsonage next Wednesday at 2 pm with Mrs. Klein and Mrs. John Koehler assisting.
