Mr. and Mrs. Raymond John with their son and children visited Thursday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Swedenburg and family. Mrs. John Gestrine and family spent Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Thelander and family.
Local families from Osceola and surrounding towns enjoyed picnics and gatherings at Osceola park Bertrand and York. Visitors included the Gustafson and Thelander families with birthdays and anniversaries noted. Travelers spent time in Cheyenne Blair Oakland and Hutchinson Minnesota relatives hosted and attended church events.
Pastor Maurice Swenson travels to Minnesota for a family reunion and will preach next Sunday at Vasa Church. Mrs Swenson and the visiting children from Cannon Falls and St Peter plan to return with him next week.
Mr and Mrs DeVern Rodene announce the birth of a baby weighing seven pounds. The event adds a new child to the Rodene family, details on the birth location and exact time are not provided.
A 10 ounce baby girl named Kathryn Jane was born on Wednesday July 28 at Stroms burg hospital. Beverly Bush departed Sunday by bus for a short visit with relatives in Omaha.

Mary Ellen Warwick plans a vacation starting Friday at her grandmother’s home in Palmyra Nebraska after leaving dental assistant duties. Mr. and Mrs. J A Carlson visited Fred Yungdahl at Swede Home on Sunday.
Mrs. Ethel Nelson takes a brief vacation from Corn Palace Cafe and travels with her son Marlin to Oakland Nebraska to visit her mother and other relatives.
District No. 18 reports visits from Mr. and Mrs. Orville Enyeart and Earl. Nels Anderson and his mother and brother visited from near Omaha. Mrs. Edward Lisko visited her grandfather A. M. Tryba in Columbus. Bert Hutcheston of Iowa stayed with the Bernts. Birthday Club members held an annual picnic at Pawnee Park in Columbus. Neal Hasselbalch left for Montana to visit relatives. Mrs. Clara J. Horst and Florence Miller spent a day in Grand Island. Irene Yerk, nurse consultant with the Red Cross, stayed as a house guest with the Johnsons. J. A. Carlson Jr. and wife were guests in the Cecil Larson home in Grand Island.
