Sutherland Reservoir May Not Fill Much This Year
Lincoln R H Willis head of the state irrigation bureau says the Sutherland reservoir in the Platte Valley district will likely fill no more than half this year after a 400 second feet cut in the project diversion at Keystone and a reduction from 1200 to 800 second feet. He warns filling may stop soon due to direct flow rights demand while east ditch usage expands. The reservoir holds about 55 000 acre feet and the Platte river may go dry at Overton, marking an unusually early diversion situation.
