Richard Wieseman Dies After Illness In Osceola
Richard Wieseman 35 died Monday morning at Immanuel Hospital Omaha after several weeks illness. He taught farming on a valley farm and married Viola Timm, with two daughters Helen Marie and Doris Elvine. Survived by widow, daughters, parents Joe and Mrs Wieseman Osceola, three sisters Eva Wehman Missouri Lillian Gothenburg Della Need Osceola, and brother Fred Wieseman Osceola. Funeral at Osceola Methodist Church Thursday May 7 conducted by Rev EB Maxcy and Rev John Herrmann. Burial in Osceola Cemetery.

Osceola Contestant Earns Honors in State Typewriting
Osceola contestants placed well in the State Commercial Contest at Kearney. Irma Hastings earned fifth in the individual typewriting test with 70.99 words per minute in fifteen minutes. The Osceola Champion Typewriting team of Hastings and Goldie Johnson earned fourth place as a team. Forty four schools competed.

Recreation school for Polk County leaders set in Osceola
Newton W. Gaines and Ralph Copenhaver will lead a two day recreation school for community leaders on May 11 and 12 at the M E Church parlors Osceola starting 10 a m each day Agricultural Agent Kelly announces. Invitations go to Farmers Union Locals church groups women’s clubs and PTA units to send two to four leaders per group. Those attending should notify Kelly with their community and the number of leaders. The event is free to Polk county organizations with an expected attendance of 50 to 60 leaders for training in party games and community program planning.
