Blood Pressure Clinics Planned in Polk County
Charles Roberts of Osceola will coordinate free blood pressure screenings in Polk County starting in May during High Blood Pressure Month. The program is run with the Nebraska Heart Association and the State Department of Health, endorsed by the Nebraska Medical Association, to fight strokes, heart failure and kidney damage.

Emil Monson died late Monday afternoon at Annie Jeffrey Hospital from injuries after a fall from a ladder at his home earlier the same day. Services are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at St Paul Lutheran Church.

Pioneer Wagon Train Arrives in Polk County Osceola
The National Wagon Train Pilgrimage from Blaine Washington to Valley Forge Pennsylvania crosses Polk County as part of Pennsylvania’s Bicentennial effort. Nine state wagons travel with Alaska Idaho Oregon Wyoming and others, led by horsemen and a preacher wagon. The Osceola stop features an afternoon break near the Walter Berck farm and an evening bonfire with an oxen team from Washington.
