Second shot clinics set for May 24 with two shots over two to four weeks as schedule adjusted by the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis.

The Polk County ASC Committee reminds farmers that 1954 corn loan and purchase agreements must be filed by May 31, 1955 if not exceeding their 1954 allotment. May ear corn moisture cannot exceed 15.5 percent and shelled corn 13.5 percent. The Polk County loan rate is $1.56 per bushel and papers require time for sampling and processing. Thermometer marks progress of church building fund drive
A large sign at the Methodist Church shows a fundraising thermometer with 53,400 dollars raised cash on hand as of Monday. Pledges are being pursued for payment, new pledges arrive as the contract is let, and D L Moffitt is awarded the hospital contract to start work next week. Polio Vaccination Drive Receives Strong County Support
Reaction to the Salk serum program across the county was exceptionally good with little fear from participating children. Nurses and doctors led the effort, Olive Mcebeth headed pre shot preparations, and Edith Heilman led the Polk County polio organization. Supplies and services were donated by local medical staff, with Osceola’s drive run by Doctors Eklund and Blodig and teachers and students.
