The 2nd annual convention of the Fourth District Nebraska Federation of Women’s Clubs met at the M E Church in Osceola with delegates from 11 counties and 43 of 53 clubs represented. Officers elected included Mrs A F Nuquist Osceola president and Mrs F Tincher Fairbury retiring president.

Local High School Students Host Surprise Party
A group of local high school students surprised Helen Deeter with a Sunday afternoon gathering at Nellie Elwood’s home then enjoyed a two mile trip to a Platte River picnic spot near Duncan. Citizens note a rolling pin window display and discuss 1927 Nebraska license colors, plus legal and civic remarkaries on judges and a city light plant proposal by the Diesel Engine and Electric Co.

Mother of six dies after short illness in Osceola
Mrs. Robert Knapp aged 39 died at home near Osceola after a week long illness from pneumonia. Born Lillie Koehler in Papil Hon Nebraska she later moved to Polk County and Osceola. Survived by husband six children, father, sisters and brothers. Funeral held at M E Church with Rev Kline officiating, burial in Osceola cemetery. Many local residents attended.

William Albert Swanson born Morris Winois January 21 1877 died April 18 1926 after a life in Nebraska. He lived in Osceola Lincoln and Swede Home communities and left a wife daughter Ruth and a mother with several siblings. Interment was at Swede Home Cemetery conducted by Rueben Krom with many floral offerings.

Sudden Death, Birthings Highlight Local Social Center Notes
The community reports the death of Mrs. Robert Knapp on Sunday. A school accident left Tommy Richards with a broken left arm in two places from a swing fall. Nebraska youths aim to market 720000 pounds of beef
Seven hundred twenty thousand pounds of extra choice fattened beef by 599 baby beef calf club members in Nebraska is the year's goal. The program teaches fattening, fitting, showing, and sportsmanship. Polk County lists nine boys preparing calves for fall fairs including Harold Johnson and the Moudens among others.
