Hari son Blevins sold eighty acres of improved Polk County farmland three miles southeast of Shelby to H W Alt of Shelby for 3300 an acre. W J J Pierce represented both parties in the transaction.
District No. 18 residents and guests visited in multiple towns including St Andrews Genoa and Columbus. Notable names include Mr and Mrs Edward Lisko John Micek Maurice Fellers Mrs Louis Schmidt and Mrs Adolph Bernt with many relations joining weekend and Sunday gatherings.

District Judge L. S. Hastings died Tuesday morning at his home in David City. The longtime jurist served on the district bench for many years and was known for his courtroom leadership and public service. He is survived by several relatives and will be remembered for his contributions to the local legal community.
