Sentence for Car Theft Sentences Mortenson in Nebraska
W. C. Mortenson, recently released from Stillwater prison, was sentenced to three years and four months in the Nebraska penitentiary last Thursday. Judge Landis imposed the term after Mortenson pleaded guilty to stealing a car owned by Chet Underhill, a Stromsburg mail carrier, in 1939.

Fourth Cavalry Passes Through Osceola on Army Day
The Fourth Cavalry from Ft. Meade South Dakota moved through Osceola on Tuesday en route home from the Army Day parade in Omaha. Residents saw a mechanized division including jeeps scout cars trucks motorcycles and other equipment. This appearance marks the end of the unit as cavalry with horses likely retired to Ft Robinson for training.

She lived in Shelby Nebraska since 1883 with earlier moves to Gibson City Malvern and married Henry Humiston in 1883.
