Osceola Shut In Dark Two Days After 1976 Storm
A March 29 1976 blizzard hit a 16 county area in southeastern Nebraska leaving Osceola without power from 830 p.m. Monday to 830 p.m. Wednesday. Ice laden lines fell as poles snapped. Generators aided the sheriff hospital and rest home while crews worked 12 14 hour days to restore electricity across Polk and neighboring counties.
