Eleanor Koehler 17, Osceola High School senior, died after a car driven by a youth fell asleep and ran into a ditch three miles north of Stromsburg on highway 81. Passengers included Viola Johnson Evelyn Cook Tom Winters and Rolon Renquest. Renquest was treated at a York hospital. funeral held at First Methodist Church Osceola with high school Girl's Club singing.

Tuesday’s election drew just over 150 votes in each ward with no opposition for councilmen and police magistrate.
