Funeral services for Herman Dey, 73, were March 24 at Anderson Funeral Chapel in Stromsburg with Rev. Deryl Reed officiating. He died March 21 at Annie Jeffrey Hospital after a lengthy illness. Interment followed at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Gresham.

State tax field rep announces schedule
Beginning April 10 1969 Gary Rowe field representative of the State Tax Commissioners office will be available monthly to assist Polk County residents on State tax matters. He will be at the Polk County Court House from 9 30 a m until 3 30 p m on the second Thursday of each month. This itinerant service will enable Mr Rowe to be available to the maximum number of taxpayers from each area at a specific convenient time.

Osceola student Jack Cerny was among six outstanding high school seniors honored by York Elks Lodge No. 1024 at the Honors Banquet on March 25. Cerny received a $50 second place scholarship.
