Murder in Harrison Township Unearths Grim Family Tragedy
A local rider brought news of a brutal family murder in Harrison township. The Wratten family of six was slain in their home while one member, Denson Wratten, lay ill. The killer, believed to be James E. Stone, known as Bud, may have fled into the countryside as authorities offered a reward and searches used dogs and Pinkerton detectives failed to find the perpetrator.
