Frank Barrett recalls a perilous cliff rescue where Lola clings to a rope as Van Hoeck fires a shot and rock avalanches. The pair escape the precipice as the Great Helper and the rock slide, Lola is mortally wounded, but her bravery saves Barrett's life. They endure, wed, and honor a promise amid peril and love.
Meeting drew a large crowd Saturday night and Sunday. Neighbors visited relatives across town including Hustins, Beasley, Mowery and Aishe families. Several out of town guests arrived, with Indianapolis and Princeton connections noted. Birth announced for Marion Bell's daughter. Attendees joined funerals in Cornersville for George Allen.

William Bricker and son near Burns City were here Monday evening. Mrs. John Miller and children near Newberry visited Mort Dobbins and family Tuesday. Michael Fortner near Old Salem enroute to Odon Monday. John Sargent near Burns City enroute to Odon with a load of wheat Monday. Jonathan A McArtor near Union passed here Monday. Sam Dalton Jr. and family of Linton were in the area Sunday. Sam Wall near Newberry was through here Monday. Frank Garrett of Burns City and B. Allen of Eaglesville were here Monday morning. Miss Jennie Wallick of Odon was in the vicinity Sunday. W T Summerville attended David Garey’s funeral at Bloomfield Monday. H B Sanders and wife and Mrs Homer Sanders near Union spent Sunday with W N Sanders and family. W H Bechtel spent Saturday at Beehunter working at his trade.
Local report notes high school began last Monday at Burns City with an enrollment of thirty two students. Various residents and visitors from nearby towns are mentioned including Grace Marshall, Nellie Edmondson, Edith Strietelmeier, and others. Church and social events fill the week with visits, piano purchases, marriages, and Sunday gatherings noted along with farewells and community activities.
Frank Turk purchased a Maxwell automobile. Mrs Liza Hartwell returned to Plainville Sunday. Attendees from here went to the Liberty picture show this week. Gus Seegers went to Plainville Sunday. W A Grove visited Gus Seegers Sunday evening. Henry Sefrit John Parsons Wm Perkins Homer West of Southern NanBuren and John A Groves took a trip in Groves car to Mitchell and West Baden Sunday.
