Auto turn over injures Loogootee youths after social gathering
Curtis Jones and eight others were riding in a Ford from a Loogootee garage when the car left the road near the ball park and toppled into a ditch. Snyder Reunion Brings Fifty Eight Members Together
The ninth annual Snyder family reunion was held in the city park on Saturday. Fifty eight relatives attended and enjoyed games while elders reminisced and a big noon dinner was served as the highlight of the day. The first reunion of the family was hosted years ago in this community.

Tomey Dead Linked To Ohio Reunion Of Snyder Family
W A Tomey died in Plainville Ohio nine years ago. Four sisters living now attended the reunion Saturday: Mrs Mary Winkerspleck aged 71 and Mrs Rose Hayes aged 76 both of this place, Mrs Syvilla Garber. Tomey died at 9 45 am of cancer aged 70 a veteran of the Civil War who served eighteen months in an Indiana infantry unit. He leaves a widow Margaret Grove and four of five children Julia Cox and E J Keith of Sikeston Missouri C G Ellis and Austin Tomey of Daviess county. He also leaves a brother Thomas of Martin County and three half brothers Lemuel of Edwardsport Perry of Terre Haute and Geo of Epsom. He was a member of the Plainville lodge of the Odd Fellows. Funeral services were held at the Plainville Methodist church at 2 pm Tuesday with burial in Plainville cemetery.

David Garey dies at 71 in Bloomfield obituary notes public service
David Garey aged seventy one died at his Bloomfield home from age related illness. A longtime Martin county official he served five terms as Martin circuit court clerk one term as surveyor and deputy in the Martin county courthouse. He later worked as Greene county deputy clerk and was a Civil War veteran. Survived by widow Kate Summerville three children Willard Garey Herbert Garey and Mrs. Harry Carroll.
