Local families from Shiloh and surrounding towns spent Sundays visiting kin and friends. Willis Overton and Amy Overton were among hosts with relatives in Odon, Eaglesville, Edon, Brazil, and Indianapolis. The notes record numerous brief calls and Sunday visits among Pershing, Overton, Chestnut, Lamb, and other families.
Under H E Barnard three drug commissioners inspected cities and towns in June. Forty-four poor and ninety markets ninety two hotels and restaurants and sixty three drug stores were evaluated with most items rated good or fair. Five prosecutions for pure food violations and a total of 2035 in fines and costs were recorded. Condemnation notices 112 were issued and 65 food samples analyzed with eight illegal. Milk and pickles issues noted among samples.
