Allen Haggett and Lewis Rhabottom family visits and multiple movements mingle through Fairview. Plainville guests A L Standiford and Art Woodruff visit kin. Epsom trips for Zack Parker and Miss Tabitha Parker. several relatives share Sunday gatherings and sick lists.
A. J. Williams of Webster City Iowa writes fondly of his Daviess County origins and Indiana as the best state. He recalls early teachers Miss Clinton Henry Core and James Boy, notes Odon's past as Clarksburg with local mills and stores, and urges laborers to consider Indiana’s pay, calling popcorn country Iowa a good place for workers.
Mr and Mrs Dave Marshall of near Odon visited Dutch Wright and family on Sunday. Several local youths attended church at Mt Olive Sunday night. Families and neighbors shared visits and small trips around Odon and nearby towns throughout the week and weekend.
John Parsons visited Loogootee on Saturday as roads remain rough in the area. Several locals made trips to Loogootee and Washington, including Homer West Calvin Perkins and others. A funeral for Milton Satterfield drew a large Pleasant Grove crowd. Birth announced for Logan Dant’s son on a Tuesday in February. No school at Center Monday and Tuesday due to Miss Clinton’s absence.
Mr and Mrs John McClelland traveled to Indianapolis to visit son James and family. Dozens of residents including Grace Callahan and Grace Wrights family shared Sunday visits and church attendance. The revival closed with twenty two additions. several locals attended funerals and church services. a move to Bunkum was noted for Dan Mowery. Isaac Gardner visited from Washington.
Miss Ada Evans of Eaglesville spent Wednesday night at Ol with friends and family. The brief notes her visit without further details.
Mr and Mrs Everett Sears formerly of this city now in Portland have been very sick with smallpox but both are much better this week Their little daughter Fontella was also very sick.
