Odon Creamery Resumes Work Under Association Control

The Odon Creamery resumed operations after the manager and lessee C. E. Pershing disappeared. The Odon Creamery Association owns the plant and decided to run it themselves rather than lease it. J. W. Lawrence named manager. fifty six stockholders. Milo Smiley president. Fred W. Shaffer secretary and treasurer.

Snyder Leaves Washington for New Albany Residence

The Rev. W. E. Snyder presiding elder of the United Brethren Church Indiana conference leaves Washington to reside in New Albany. He is known for his energetic church work and moderate preaching style. He will continue work in the Indiana conference and visit Washington occasionally, with Mrs. Snyder sharing his notable amiable circle.

Trades Farm for Odon Property Trade in Elmore Township

The Odon Realty Co. arranged a swap this week in which Chas. Hazzard exchanged a forty acre farm near Bellview church in Elmore township to J. M. Winkelpleck for property on South Spring Street. The consideration totaled $5,500.

Birthday Surprise for Jane Core at 44th Anniversary

A large group of friends and relatives surprised Mr. Core last Sunday for his 44th birthday. Poor weather and high water kept many from attending but a sumptuous dinner and afternoon of games followed, with guests wishing him many more happy anniversaries.

The I O O F Lodge of this city held an interesting Wednesday night meeting at the hall with good talks and special music. After business, members gathered at McBride's restaurant for a banquet. A large crowd attended, and the event was praised as one of the best in some time.

Stabbing Affair in Washington Involves Two Telephone Managers

George W. Dyke of Central Union Telephone slashed in a knife attack by Robert McCrary of the Automatic Telephone on Third Street after a dispute over telephone matters. Dyke sustained a four inch hip gash and a back coat slash. McCrary arrested on assault and battery with intent to kill, released on $1,000 bond. Preliminary hearing set for February 13. Both men married and financially tangled in rival firms.

Free Concert for Ladies at Colon Drug Co

Veale township teachers plan a February 20 institute at Pleasant Hill school with a township contest in the afternoon. About 140 took the recent exam, the largest in state history. Illinois held a statewide spelling contest. boys won first and third, a girl second. The State Superintendent urges support for the Red Cross Lincoln Fund with a 1915 target of one penny per child.
