Tuberculosis Claims Local Woman and Varied Obituary Notes

Mrs. Joe G Howell of Arthur Illinois aged twenty one died of pulmonary tuberculosis. Formerly Alta May Resler, daughter of Cornelius and Mrs Resler, she left a husband and child, two sisters, and her parents. Funeral held Raglesville church with Rev Barker. M Milton Satterfield of Van Buren township died aged over fifty at his home after a long illness. He married Eliza Jane McCall. four children born, only Mrs Paunie West survives. Burial at Osman cemetery following a Methodist church service.

Town Board Meets and Squirrel Protection Discussed

The town board met in regular session at the First National tank offices and approved claims for Keck and Keck Myers Light and Power Co and Wm Summerville marshal. It was decided to fine five dollars for anyone carrying a dun in the city park and signs will be posted. Citizens show interest in protecting squirrels as their numbers increase. Boxes will be placed in trees for the squirrels and protection will be provided.

FYE STRAIN Described as eye strain from overuse

Jack Baker Killed In Sandborn Dragging Incident

Jack Baker, a local figure, was killed at Sandborn last Tuesday when a team of mules ran away after he was tangled while posting bills. His body was mangled in the escape. He was brother-in-law to Richard Dyer of this city and son-in-law of Rev. S Dyer of near Finoxa.

A B Ladies Aid Meeting Shares Puny Names

The A B Ladies Aid met at Mrs Walter Breden’s home on February 4 for a quarterly meeting. Members brought pennies equal to letters in their names and answered with puns at roll call. An interesting program was presented and refreshments followed.

Albert Osborn ten year old son of Burns City family dies

Albert Stuckey Osborn ten, son of Hayden and Mrs Osborn of Burns City, died in Bedford Sunday night after an appendectomy. Funeral services were at Burns City M E Church Tuesday at 10 30 with Rev O C Barker in charge. burial followed in Burns City Cemetery. He is survived by his father, mother, one brother and one sister.

Beasley Becomes Bride of Chestnut in Eagleville Ceremony

Ora Everett Beasley and Fannie Lucretia Chestnut wed at the U B parsonage in Eaglesville with Rev. Perry Key officiating. The couple, attended by Alma Chestnut and Henry Ledgerwood, plan to reside with the Chestnut and Beasley families after a wedding supper and reception.

Policeman Shot Dead in Linton Burglary

Tred Cromwell a 42 year old Linton patrolman was shot and killed early Sunday while confronting burglars at the Friedman store. The assailants fled after wounding him. stolen horses were found returning to their stable about seven o clock. Bloodhounds followed the trail to Jas Reed farm before it was lost. Cromwell had joined the force ten days earlier after serving with the fire department.

Risley and Petty Wed at Steele Township Home

Ralph Risley and Edith Marie Petty of Steele township were married Wednesday at 10 39 in the home of Rev C H Buchanan. Miss Petty is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Wm Petty, a well known Steele farmer, and the couple plan to reside on a farm near Plainville with Mrs Abraham Risley noted as an industrious young farmer family link.
