Slats Diary Weekend Notes of School Friends and Town Life
The entry records a sequence of everyday scenes from Friday to Thursday. It covers Jane and Slats, a beggar on the street, parental discussions about money and manners, a reference to disease germs on money, a confrontation with a girl named Jane, a teacher’s volcano question, and Slats replying to a note about math and weekend plans with playful numbers and chores.
