Death of Mrs Anna Nolley at age 81 in Epsom community
Mrs. Anna Nolley died at her son Gev Nolley's home near Montgomery after illness. Born September 13, 1838 in Kentucky, she married Edward B. Nolley May 7, 1857 and had nine children, with five daughters and one son surviving. Funeral at M. E. Church in Epsom followed by burial at Tolberts Chapel. Her late husband and three daughters preceded her. She was a Methodist member. Purdue University cattle judging team earned top placements at the Chicago show, with S. D. Sims taking fourth in senior yearling class and leading roles in university activities.

Oldest Community Resident John W Garrett Dies of Pneumonia
John W Garrett aged over 81 died at his grandson’s home two miles south of Scotland after a brief pneumonia illness. Born in Ohio in 1838 he married Martha Hann in 1858 and had six children five surviving. Mary Lamb William Frank Calvin Minnie Dickey, plus two sisters and many grandchildren. A Civil War veteran and Methodist Church member, he left his wife 14 years ago. Funeral was at the M E church in Scotland with Rev. McBride.
