Norwalk Cab Co Sold to Walter Wagner

Walter Wagner has bought the equipment of Norwalk Cab Co and received authorities from city officials to operate taxi service. Wagner, a longtime local driver, will run as Walt's Norwalk Cab Co from 54 E. Elm St and 13 Whittlesey Ave, with hours initially 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily and potential 16 hours if demand grows.

Airport Makes Rapid Progress At Huron County Site

City and county authorities will meet with the Airport Authority Monday to view work on the Huron County Airport and discuss next steps. President Thomas L. Paffenbarger arranged the gathering at 11 am at the Ohio 601 entrance, then lunch at Leed's Restaurant. Construction progresses quickly with a November 15 deadline mainly for runway paving. Officials expect possible earlier completion and will consider building locations.

Sesqui Weekend Activities Light Up Columbia Gas Center

The Sesquicentennial festivities run Thursday to Saturday with a hospitality center open daily from 9 a.m. to after 9 p.m. at Columbia Gas Co. Highlights include a 7 p.m. cartoon show for grades 1-6 at Norwalk Theater, Romper Room with Miss Barbara, a parade from downtown to the fairgrounds, and a Bowing Green University band concert. Sunday features homecoming services and an antique car parade with cars on display at Sun High.
