Freight Train Hits School Bus Near Waterloo Neb
A Union Pacific freight train collided with a school bus at a country crossing near Waterloo Nebraska. Initial reports cite four deaths and at least nine injuries. The crossing had a standard cross-bar with no lights and the train was 97 cars long.

Bus Hit By Train Kills and Injures Waterloo Pupils
A Waterloo Public School bus traveling about 48 mph was struck near the right rear wheel by a train tearing out rear seats and tossing some as far as 50 feet. The bus was derailed into a ditch with bodies scattered. rescue crews transported the dead and injured to Waterloo and Omaha.

More than 500 people gathered at the Norwalk Junior High Auditorium to honor the Fisher brothers, Detroit auto makers with Norwalk roots. An unveiling of a painting of the Fisher Carriage shop, to hang in Fisher Titus Memorial Hospital, highlighted the tribute. William Fisher pledged an early portrait of his father and stressed the family’s lifelong gratitude to Norwalk.

Milan Man Dies From Milan Crash Injuries
A Norwalk man Martin R. Mills 79 died at Fisher-Titus Hospital after a Milan collision Friday when his northbound car was struck on the right side by Carl D. Clutter of Lorain. Mills a Pittsbury native and longtime area farmer survived by two daughters a son seven grandchildren two brothers and a late wife. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rawle Funeral Home Milan with burial in Milan Cemetery.
