Norwalk Wins Federal Grant for Water Filtration Lagoons
Norwalk received a 12090 federal grant approved by the EPA and routed through the Ohio Water Development Authority for two settling lagoons at the water filtration plant. The lagoons will be 40 feet wide and 400 feet long, six feet deep, to hold back backflushed water from six beds as lime alum and charcoal settle out before discharge to Norwalk Creek. Krogh said the project cost is partially funded by the grant, about one third of total, with lagoons to be dredged periodically.
