Charter Panel Shapes City Civil Service And Planning Bodies
Norwalk's City Charter Commission adopted civil service and planning commissions and amended a Department of Safety provision to preempt police and fire opposition. The civil service panel will have three qualified electors with six year terms appointed by the mayor and council approval. The planning commission will include the mayor, school superintendent or a resident board member, park board president, and four mayoral appointees for four years.

Baton Corps Wins Three Trophies In Area Parades
Collins report notes Western Reserve junior baton corps, in its first competitive year, captured first at Wakeman Homecoming second at Berlin Heights Harvest Festival and third at Milan Melon Festival.
