Longtime St. Pauls Choir Members Honored With Gold Cross
Cyril Dawson and James Wood, both longtime members of St. Pauls Episcopal Church choir in Norwalk, were surprised with gold crosses during a Sunday service. Dawson 62 joined at age 12. Wood 67 joined in 1901 and has sung continuously since 1936 after brief absences. The ceremony honored their 30 years of shared singing and service as licensed bay readers and vestry members.

Two Prowlers Reported In Norwalk
Norwalk police investigated two separate prowler reports. Bonnie Davis of 17 State St. said someone tried to enter her apartment Saturday night or Sunday morning, with two doors pried. Edith Laundent of 72 Woodlawn Ave. reported a prowler around her home at 10 30 pm nightly, and that a man tried her door at 10 45 pm before being scared away by the dog.

The Norwalk Post reports six minor weekend accidents investigated by the State Highway Patrol. James Bolin and passenger Challin Bolin sustained minor injuries after a Townline Road 12 collision. Bolin cited for unsafe operation. Paul Bordner Jr and another driver both cited for DWI or related issues after separate crashes. A hit and run damaged a fence near Dr. C B Thomas’s property. A semi-trailer hit a low bridge clearance. no bridge damage reported. Cited drivers include Clifford Claus and Ervin Fry. multiple injuries, vehicle and property damage noted.

City Man 37 Dies Of Coronary In Norwalk
Robert Karl Gribben 37 of Route 601 rural Norwalk died Saturday night at Sandusky Memorial Hospital after a heart attack. He was a credit manager at Perfected Furniture Co and a long time member of First Methodist Church and scouting groups. He served in Korea and is survived by Ruth his wife and three sons Mark Craig and Brett. Funeral arrangements include Masonic Memorial service and burial at Greenlawn Cemetery Greenwich.
