Paul H. Sutter of Norwalk was elected president of the Ohio Lutheran Mutual Underwriters Association at the Eastern Region annual meeting held at the Bedford Springs Hotel. The region covers Michigan Ohio Pennsylvania New York Connecticut and Maryland. Sutter joined Lutheran Mutual in 1958 and became a supervisor in 1966. He is part of the Carleton G. Case Agency of Marion.
Rev Edward Lopeman and his wife were honored at a farewell potluck after two Sunday services in Berlin Heights and Ceylon. They leave to pursue Vanderbilts seminary studies and a Nashville teaching role, ending Lopeman’s first pastorate with memories shared by about 100 attendees.
Bobby James Pinkston, 29, was charged with drunken driving after authorities say he drove two blocks along a parkway and through a supermarket lot, knocking down a speed limit sign. He was reportedly operating a plane at the time of the alleged offenses.
