In San Francisco the diocesan convention urged immediate withdrawal of all U S military and intelligence from Vietnam and backed a program to influence abolition of conscription. Delegates rejected support for the Vietnam Moratorium of November 14-15.

Kin seeks citizens help to find missing mother and child

Mrs. Walter Thompson urged private citizens to locate the bodies of Linda Peugeot and her daughter Lori Mae, who disappeared last September after being kidnapped in Cumberland. FBI has not recovered them, and Thompson suspects a burial in the Toledo Ohio to Ft Wayne Indiana corridor.

Two Crashes Kill Eight In Ohio Weekend Toll

United Press International reports eight people died in two crashes near Tiffin and Columbus on Saturday. The weekend traffic toll rose to 34, the second straight weekend over 30, with 25 deaths Saturday and five on Sunday plus four on Friday night.

Tunney's Daughter Alive Found After Disappearance

Joan Tunney Wilkinson, daughter of former boxing champion Gene Tunney, was found alive in Milwaukee. She had been missing since August 28 after missing meetings with her husband Carter Wilkinson and their daughters Alexandra and Erin during a camping trip in Norway.

The Senate Finance Committee debated taxing foundations and their untaxed assets. It was expected to vote to tax foundations for the first time and extend beyond the House by considering a levy on income from stock holdings totaling about 65 million dollars.

Private luncheon marks Lyndon Johnson visit in Minden

Former President Lyndon B. Johnson and Lady Bird Johnson attended the 125th anniversary service at First Baptist Church founded by Johnson's great grandfather George Washington Baines in Minden Louisiana. A crowd numbering about 1,000 filled the church and 150 stood outside. After worship, the couple joined 20 local residents for lunch at a two story brick house on Garrison Road.

A Seattle woman registered with her husband at the Crown Motel on U S 250 North shot herself in their room about 9 p m Sunday night. Mrs Margaret Lee Erickson 51 died from a gunshot wound to the head according to Erie County Sheriff and Coroner Dr Joseph Butler.

Rural Monroeville man dies in Route 20 collision

Daniel Lee Peirce 25 of Standardsburg dies after his 1961 Mercury collides head on with a westbound semi near Route 51 construction in Sandusky County. Clinton Ashley 49 of Akron treated and released. Norwalk Hopes For Volunteer Ambulance Service

City officials report strong and external interest in a volunteer ambulance program. Service Director Mount notes it is early to gauge staffing, with a model drawn from Tiffin offering pay for 160 hours and extra for out of city runs. A closed council session will discuss ambulance service along with taxes and water rate issues.

Woman Chutist Injured In New London Sky-Diving Accident

A sky diving incident in New London injures Nancy Arndt a 28 year old from Corine Ohio with a fractured left leg and she receives treatment at Fisher Titus Memorial Hospital. Rebecca Berry a 7 year old Norwalk resident is bitten on the index finger by a squirrel while protecting it and is treated at Fisher Titus. Mike Leak a 16 year old Norwalk High football player sustains a sprained left ankle and is hospitalized.

Car Slams Into Rail Injuring Two at Busy Junction

At the Rt 250 and 13 junction early Monday, Daniel Johnson 24 of Mansfield lost control and struck a guardrail. Two of his five passengers Clara Morris 42 and Dorothy Rooks 19 were taken to Fisher-Titus with back injuries and other injuries. Rooks was treated and released. The guardrail had been struck four times in the past week.
