Truman Resting After Fall At Home In Independence

Former President Harry S. Truman is reported resting well in a Kansas City hospital after a fall at his Independence home left him with two fractured ribs and facial cuts. Physicians monitor his condition as they treat the injuries and observe for any complications.

Nguyen Van Troi, 24, executed by firing squad in Saigon for attempting to kill U.S. Defense Secretary Robert S. McNamara. He shouted pro communist slogans as bullets ended his life. No Progress Halted Talks Between NOT and IBEW

No progress was made at a Toledo meeting between Northern Ohio Telephone Company officials and Local 986 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Eisenhower Accuses Johnson Aides Of Crowds Over Policy

Former President Dwight D. Eisenhower spoke in Columbus Ohio as part of five GOP campaign stops. He urged a Republican administration to restore orderly governance and vision, and derided Democratic charges of nuclear misuses and disunity among allies. Resource Group Organizer Richard Flint of Willard was named president of the Huron County Resource Development Committee. Tom Sean Norwalk Larry Burt New London Harley Polley Bellevue and Willard Fritz Attica were named vice presidents. Lyle Dawson Willard named secretary. The RDC will coordinate existing study committees and form new ones to explore county problem areas and develop a countywide plan.
