Mosher to host listening session at Huron County Courthouse
Congressman Charles A. Mosher and Mosher will hold a listening session Thursday in the Treasurer's Office at the Huron County Courthouse from 9 to 12 and 1 to 4 pm. He attends a Republican breakfast at the Republican Headquarters from 8 to 10 am with candidates and their wives invited. In Bangkok a U S air tanker crashed near Thauang village 150 miles northeast of Bangkok killing 11 people and injuring six while the six crew parachuted to safety.

Hurricane Hilda Delays Agent Wells At Truck Stop
Huron County Extension Agent John K. Wells was stranded for eight hours at a Mississippi truck stop as Hurricane Hilda lashed the region with 75 mph winds and heavy rain. Wells and his wife encountered the storm on Oct. 3 while en route to New Orleans for a conference, joining about 2,000 county agents. They sheltered at a truck stop near York, Mississippi, until the tempests subsided at about 11:30 p.m. High winds closed the Lake Pontchartrain causeway north of New Orleans, and radio stations provided little storm news during the blackout.

Sheriff Seizes Arsenal After Threat to Johnson

Julius Schmidt 29 a plumber and gun trader and another man were arrested on arms act violations while investigators hunted the alleged lone suspect. Fire Kills 4 Tots Near Clinton County
A Highland County home fire east of New Vienna claimed four children under two to six years old, including Timmy Turner. Father Thomas Turner and three other kids were injured. cause suspected as a gasoline mix up with a stove. Fire units from Hillsboro New Vienna and Clinton County Air Force Base fought the blaze and recovered the bodies two hours after the blaze began.

Man and Dog Bite Lead to Jail After Disorderly Incident
Roger Alsept, 33, of Willard, wound up in Huron County Jail for 30 days after a disturbance at his home. Mrs. Alsept called Sheriff John Borgia at 3 15 p m reporting her husband was drunk and disorderly. Deputy Jack Smith was dispatched to the Assept residence to discuss the situation.
