Burton explains New London School Levy to Rotary Club
W R Burton told New London Rotary members at the First Methodist Church that citizens must decide funding for local schools. The proposed three mill operating levy would raise about $39,000 over five years, with a real estate impact of about $5.70 per half year on a $10 000 property and about $1.42 monthly on a $15 000 home. The levy funds daily operations, salaries, books, and furniture replacement, distinguishing it from bond issues for building.
