Monroeville to Toughen Truancy Rules at District Board Meeting
The Monroeville School District approved a truancy crackdown. Letters were sent to parents of 46 students who missed more than 10 days last year. The policy limits excused absences to illness and emergencies and requires early notification to the high school principal on the day of absence. Failing to notify results in an unexcused absence and possible F grades. Truancy leads to triple makeup time and loss of credit unless resolved by the principal.
