Tax Committee Hears Four Department Heads
A citizens tax study panel met with four city officials to review Norwalk finances and the proposed income tax. Officials discussed operations and expenses at the Electric Generating Plant Water Filtration Plant Electric Distribution Department Sewage Disposal Plant and street maintenance. Salary schedules were a focus and the committee will reconvene with park and recreation leadership next week.

Mark Bernstein, Antioch College student, begins a three month news internship at the Reflector under the college work-study program. He started a paper in third grade, led his high school paper as sports editor, and has been involved in politics with Eugene McCarthy. He hails from Park Forest Illinois and enjoys sports, humor, and learning experiences. A first aid course by the Firelands Red Cross starts Monday at 1 p.m. in Sandusky at 416 Columbus Ave.

The Norwalk Recreation Center invites students from first to twelfth grade to register for Halloween window painting between 3 30 and 5 p m on October 14 through 17. Painting will occur October 25 and 26 at the center.

Cars Collide at Zenobia Road and Route 250
At 5 p.m. Sunday an accident at Zenobia Road and Route 250 near Norwalk involved Kenneth D. Wargo 23 Fitchville and Cletus Weisenberger 20 rural Norwik. Weisenberger stopped at the intersection. Wargo rear collided, with Wargo cited for failure to stop in a safe distance.
