Columbus UPI reports Common Pleas Judge Allen Whiteside refused Betty Evans a guilty plea for larceny by trick. Evans, 20, was acquitted after trial over cashing an extra welfare check on Oct 1 after signing an affidavit she did not receive her regular check. The jury found no trickery in obtaining the second check.
