Robbie Nox 28 and Fred Atkinson 30 of Lorain applied for police positions in Oberlin after failing a Lorain civil service test and claiming unfair administration. They would test in Oberlin that night and in Elyria on Oct 27, following a Sept 30 commission ruling. Robert Walton 27 reported a burglary in London with his only pair of trousers stolen, arriving at police in borrowed pants.

Three More Minors Face Court In Fatality Case
Three minors appeared before Huron County Juvenile Court Judge Russell T. Antrim on preliminary delinquency hearings tied to a fatal accident on August 28 after a beer party. Driver Charles S. Perkins, 17, rural New London, faces final action October 13. the case may involve manslaughter. Others charged include Mr. and Mrs. Paul Biddinger and son Charles, all of New London, for contributing to delinquency. A youth received a $250 fine and costs on a contributing charge. The crash on Route 250 near Fitchville killed 16-year-old Linda Wharton of Ashland.
