Norwalk Mayor Harold Finch Mourns Father Death

Charles Finch father of Norwalk Mayor Harold E. Finch died Friday at Fisher-Titus Memorial Hospital aged 78. A Perrysburg native and 40 year Norwalk resident, he retired seven years ago from Norwalk Truck Lines and leaves a large family. Funeral services are set for 2 PM Monday at Kubach Smith Funeral Home with burial in Riverside Cemetery Monroeville. City offices will close Monday at noon in his honor.

Inez Hurricane Ravages Caribbean Killing Many

White Entered Innocent Plea In Manslaughter Case

Eugene R. White 18 of Greenwich pleaded innocent in Huron County Common Pleas Court to four counts of manslaughter tied to a July 16 collision near Willard that killed the Eldon Murray family of four. Bond set at 1000 cash or 2000 property, White released on 2000 property bond. Indicted co defendants Robert Mann and James L. Tuttle also entered pleas. Mann for grand larceny and Tuttle for bigamy.

Quarters Leased By New Industry In Norwalk Building

The Van Dresser Speciality Corp of Warren Michigan leased part of the former Fisher Building from 84 Whittlesey Corp of Norwalk on a temporary basis. James Westerhold and Ralph Bache of the Norwalk Chamber of Commerce announced the lease. Van Dresser will use the space for light manufacturing and has begun hiring. The Yingling Machine Co occupies another part of the building.
