Prime Minister Menahem Begin plans an official three day visit to Britain starting December 2 and cancels a Geneva stopover after postponing a London talks trip with James Callaghan due to Sadat's Israel visit.
About 3,000 needy residents in downtown Los Angeles received Thanksgiving dinners from Church In The Home. Streets were blocked for the event with long tables set up. That evening in Washington, Vice President Walter Mondale cooked the turkey at the VP mansion while his wife Joan slept late.
The Ohio Senate confirmed Kenneth B. Creasy as state director of public welfare. Creasy, 44, former Ohio House member from Delaware, has led the department since July 16 and succeeds Kwegyir Aggrey who retired after Gov. Rhodes appointed him. The confirmation was delayed until last Wednesday.
A heavy snow warning is in effect with up to four inches possible by evening. Temperatures will fall to the low to mid 20s with winds from the north northwest at 20 to 40 mph.
