Schlafly criticizes Chicago Democrats for endorsing ERA amid a convention boycott that cost the city about 15 million dollars in tourism and convention revenue. She warned injure innkeepers may sue.
UPI reports Joyce McKinney 27 and Keith May 24 were charged with kidnapping Mormon missionary Kirk Anderson, held three days in a cottage 185 miles southwest of London in September. Prosecutor Neil Dennison urged trial at the Old Bailey on the two day pretrial hearing.

Inflation and high unemployment drive gloom, while manufacturers are faulted for not caring about customers. The study notes young people are less disaffected than in the 1960s.
A community Thanksgiving service will be held at 7 30 tonight at St Peter Lutheran Church with ministers from several churches participating. Additional services are slated for 7 30 p m at Norwalk Alliance Church Shalom United Church of Christ First Baptist Church and St Alphonsus Catholic Church. Thanksgiving Masses are set for 9 30 a m Thursday at St Mary Catholic Church and 10 a m Thursday at St Paul Catholic Church.
Columbia Gas of Ohio board chairman Marvin E. White urged northwestern industrialists to stay, predicting deregulation could boost gas supplies by 1980 and avert layoffs. He warned price plans shifting costs to industry might worsen unemployment and shift costs to homes, with a 7 to 8 percent rise.
Marvin Miller of the National Weather Service in Cleveland says odds favor a milder Ohio winter than last year. He notes last winter had rare freezing gaps and that the probability of a repeat is very low. A mortgage update will follow next spring.
