At 109 years old Aunt Kittie Bonham Harvey received a bachelor of arts degree from Western College for Women. She left the school in 1878 due to ill health and completed the degree at her Minnesota home.

UPI reports Senator Stephen M. Young of Ohio quit the Veterans of Foreign Wars after alleging Commander In Chief Ray Gallagher solicited funds for the Young Americans for Freedom. Young calls the group dangerous and un American. Gallagher did not comment.
Round and round space crew at Space Center Houston report Apollo 12 spacecrafts circling the Moon. They crash landed the Intrepid module and triggered seismic shocks described as a gong in a belfry. The three day voyage started at 3 49 p m.
A man identifying himself as the Zodiac killer was shot by a police officer after threatening to harm his daughter. Authorities doubted he matched the Zodiac profile and questioned his connection to a year of Bay Area shootings.
