Norwalk Municipal Court awaits a prosecutor as negotiations continue. Law Director Freeman cites economic limits on pay, while council mulls a figure. other cities show per-case costs ranging from 1.12 to 6.61 dollars, and the new court will serve county law enforcement and civil matters up to ten thousand dollars.
A 45 year old man from Shelby admitted he never had a driver license and was sentenced in County Court to 90 days in jail and a 200 dollar fine plus court costs. A 100 dollar portion of the fine may be suspended if a license is obtained by January 1. Gallup Road will close Tuesday for drainage work as phase one of Gallup and Old State road improvements. City negotiations on wage and benefit upgrades for Norwalk city employees continue after a two hour second meeting with no details released.
