The Committee of Concerned Women at Penn State distributes leaflets warning four women were raped at fraternity parties this year. They allege a drug rendered victims half conscious and plan a demonstration before a fraternity house to protest alleged mistreatment of women.
Huron Ohio Development Director James Duerk says the bicentennial celebration will draw a record number of visitors to Ohio. He cites the state's historical, recreational and scenic attractions noted during the 10th Annual Governor's Conference on Tourism at Sawmill Creek lodge. He predicts travelers will return repeatedly after initial visits.
A school bus for the handicapped rolled over on the Akron Expressway. Two students died on arrival at hospital and 10 others plus the driver were injured. Victims identified as Alexander Halas 23 and Sheri Glenn 27. An eyewitness described the bus veering, hitting a guard rail and splitting open.
