Norwalk Veterans Day Observance Reflects Hope and Duty

About 50 people gathered on the courthouse steps as Sheriff John Borgia read Washingtons prayer and led a moment of remembrance for all veterans. The National Guard fired a three gun salute with Taps as bells rang and the ceremony closed with a benediction by Rev. Paul Bailey. Walter E. O Mara, a World War I veteran in uniform, attended along with a color guard from the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. A luncheon followed at the American Legion Hall representing community respect for service and sacrifice.

Second Youth Held On LSD Charge Here

An 18 year old from Erie Pennsylvania Ronald Jarusiewicz was arraigned in Huron County Common Pleas Court on LSD possession charges tied to an incident at the Norwalk Motel on October 30. He pleaded not guilty and bond was set at 2000 cash or 4000 property. His cousin Gary Kupniewski 19 from Erie was also charged with LSD possession and released on 2500 bond.

In Houston an 11 year old son of a Harris County assistant district attorney died from a self inflicted rifle wound after writing a note about heaven and haircuts. United Fund drive extended as results lag behind goal

Norwalk Area United Fund reports 55 percent of its 70 848 goal raised in the regular drive with pledges totaling 38934 46. Director Donald Blosser says the campaign will extend a few days as many reports remain unread and residential pledges await counting.
