Federal Aid For Ambulance Service Moves Forward
The City of Norwalk announced federal aid may cover up to half the cost of starting or equipping a municipal ambulance service. A letter from the Ohio Department of Health to Service Director William V. Mount notes that the Transportation Department can pay 50 percent of start up costs in approved cities and half the cost to equip and supply with prior approval. Mount plans to apply this week as 25 of 27 prospective volunteers remain definite. A Burgess Motors Sentinel ambulance showcased at $8,000 before equipment.

Juror Selection Continues in Brown Murder Trial
The 88th prospective juror was called at 1 15 p m in Huron County Common Pleas Court for the John W Brown first degree murder case. The first alternate was sworn in earlier as 15 alternates were questioned while 12 jurors formed the regular panel. The trial, started last Monday, will pause for a holiday and resume Wednesday. Brown faces the killing of William Famulare of Bellevue in April.
