Handy hints for outdoor chefs ignite briquettes wisely
Outdoor cooks often use too many briquettes. A single layer about one inch around the food suffices. For roasts and large cuts, place extra briquettes at the fire edge just before cooking so they touch hot coals and ignite as needed. Energy savings vary by menu and briquette count.
