New London Wildcats boosted Firelands Conference standings by routing Monroeville 15-1. Jere Young hit a two run homer and Brian Byron added a two run shot as New London totaled 15 hits. Robin Marsh pitched all seven innings allowing four hits while fanning 11 and walking two.
Edison freshman Tim McCoy carried a near no hitter through 1 1 3 innings before a three hit effort in a 6-4 Firelands Conference victory over South Central. Jeff Lake opened the scoring with a single, Ebinger and Burris produced key RBIs, and Edison surged with three runs in the fifth. Todd Brown added an RBI in the sixth as South Central pitcher Tim Hall struggled after four innings.
Willard's Shelby match swung after Jeff Adams and Jamie Elliott gave the Whippets a 2-0 lead by winning the first two singles. Scott Grit fought back for Shelby, and Rosso with Cole evened the score in doubles before Gus Secor and Phil Wilson sealed the victory for Willard 3-2 over Shelby in a Northern Ohio League contest.
