Birmingham strike hearing called by NLRB over bargaining
The National Labor Relations Board set a July 18 hearing in Toledo to assess alleged unfair labor practices by M A Harrison Manufacturing Co of Birmingham. NLRB claims the firm refused to bargain with UAW Local 2066 on Sept 14 1978 and altered wages without union talks, while hiring nonunion workers and paying them raises. The 40 year old plant on Ohio 113 in Florence Township makes jet fuel pumps and gear parts and is amid a protracted strike marked by violence.
