Ohio Power seeks rate increase for 540000 customers
Ohio Power Co filed with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio for higher electric rates to add about 24 million dollars in annual revenue across 540 000 customers. CEO Joe P Gills cited rising costs and a forty year history of rate reductions as justification for the request. Residential bills would rise under the plan from 14 47 to 16 29 for a two month period and higher amounts for larger bills.
