Norwalk High Cheerleader Overcomes Broken Foot To Shine
Kris Ultican Norwalk High sophomore broke her foot in tumbling practice the week before tryouts and the school play. She still performed on crutches and earned a role in both the play and cheer squad. Her recovery included a cast and a revised bicycle scene. She aims for Graceland College to study education following her parents’ path.

Migrant aid quilts spotlight Norwalk breakfast
About 220 area women from 29 churches gathered at the First United Presbyterian Church for the May Breakfast sponsored by the Norwalk Council of United Church Women. The event featured eight migrant quilts, a panel discussion on sharing, and prayers led by local clergy.
