U S Marines caught remnants of a battered North Vietnamese battalion retreating from Hill 881 and attacked them again near the DMZ. The clash produced significant contact as troops pressed the northwestern corner of South Vietnam close to Laos.

Communist guerrillas aided by Vietnamese traitors attacked a U.S. Special Forces camp in the northwest near Saigon under mortar and machinegun fire. Willard Reservoir Defeat Not Delay Plans in Ohio Water System

An Ohio Water Commission official says the Willard Reservoir emergency project will not be delayed by the Ohio Bond Commission defeat. Other area reservoirs may be delayed as they require separate legislative approval. Officials expect a meeting to draft a letter of intent for construction.

Condition of City Soldier Improving

PFC Gary J. Heller of Norwalk, wounded in Vietnam, is off the seriously ill list at Walter Reed Army Hospital. He faces surgery to remove a portion of his left leg above the knee, after prior amputation of the lower leg. His parents report good morale and plan further visits when possible.

Patrolman Saves Girl From Dress Fire

Baybridge patrolman Corporal J R Huth rushed to help nine year old Anne Adkins when her dress ignited near Bardshar Road. He smothered the flames with a blanket and, with another officer, transported her to Sandusky Memorial Hospital where she received treatment for second degree burns over most of her body.
