U S Marines caught remnants of a battered North Vietnamese battalion retreating from Hill 881 and attacked them again near the DMZ. The clash produced significant contact as troops pressed the northwestern corner of South Vietnam close to Laos.
Labor Secretary W. Willard Wirtz told Congress that the nation has gone as far as possible under existing law to assure equal job opportunities for non whites. He spoke in prepared testimony as liberals pushed anew for civil rights legislation.
Communist guerrillas aided by Vietnamese traitors attacked a U.S. Special Forces camp in the northwest near Saigon under mortar and machinegun fire. The assault caused heavy casualties among U.S. and Vietnamese defenders as Marines reported a continuing fight against remnants of North Vietnamese forces nearby.
Toledo UPI reports state Democratic Party head Frazier Reams seeks a taxpayer suit to recover public money spent by state universities the liquor Department and other agencies to promote the defeated Ohio Bond Commission. He was an unsuccessful gubernatorial candidate last year.

An Ohio Water Commission official says the Willard Reservoir emergency project will not be delayed by the Ohio Bond Commission defeat. Other area reservoirs may be delayed as they require separate legislative approval. Officials expect a meeting to draft a letter of intent for construction.
The First United Presbyterian Church of Norwalk will be dedicated at 3 p.m. Sunday with Dr. John K. McDivitt leading and Dr. Paul S. Millish delivering the sermon. Dr. Ernest N. Bigelow and Dr. Emil K. Holzhauser will participate, and Robert F. Chapin heads the Building Committee. An open house follows in Fellowship Hall.
Judy Schild and Cynthia Edwards head the Norwalk High School class of 1967 with GPA 3.888 and 3.758 respectively. Principal Ervin Ultican announced 149 graduates for June 7. Split reports note a widening strike by the Operating Engineers impacting bypass work and delaying surrounding contracts.
Jerry Druppel ends two stormy years as Norwalk High basketball coach by signing as Keystone High School coach in LaGrange. He will also be assistant football coach and social studies teacher at Keystone, an Inland Conference Class A school about nine miles from Elyria with 500 students.
PFC Gary J. Heller of Norwalk, wounded in Vietnam, is off the seriously ill list at Walter Reed Army Hospital. He faces surgery to remove a portion of his left leg above the knee, after prior amputation of the lower leg. His parents report good morale and plan further visits when possible.
A meeting to organize a neighborhood service center under the anti povery program is set for 7 30 p m May 11 at the Norwalk Recreation Center It is the second in a series to organize a neighborhood community action program in Norwalk
The Brutsche family of 15 St. Marys Street bids farewell as Anthony Brutsche, 20, sails to Vietnam for a year. A Navy petty officer third class, he follows seven of his eight brothers who served abroad, including Henry at Pearl Harbor and Thomas injured in Korea.
Baybridge patrolman Corporal J R Huth rushed to help nine year old Anne Adkins when her dress ignited near Bardshar Road. He smothered the flames with a blanket and, with another officer, transported her to Sandusky Memorial Hospital where she received treatment for second degree burns over most of her body.
