Norwalk Girl 18 Reports Kidnapping and Assault
An 18-year-old Norwalk girl told police she was kidnapped and assaulted in the downtown area and driven to the north city limits on Whittlesey Avenue. A medical exam was inconclusive. police were alerted at 10:57 p.m. by her mother. A second woman reported a man fitting a similar description sought her to enter a car within an hour.

Explosion Injures Man Blasting Stumps in Meigs County
A 44 year old man, Darwood Napper of Langsville, was hospitalized in fair condition after blasting tree stumps and railroad tracks on a farm east of Berlin Heights. He was to be transferred to Good Samaritan Hospital later today as x rays were taken. Police describe a separate incident involving a reported assault and suspicious car inquiries near Benedict Avenue and Whittlesey Avenue.
